tricycle undercarriage

An undercarriage arrangement in which, besides the main undercarriage, there is a nose undercarriage. This arrangement permits the forceful application of brakes without fear of nosing over. Further, cockpit visibility during takeoff and landing is also better than in an aircraft with a tail-wheel.
